Kristen Johnson
Kristen Johnson has gone from small-town country girl to beauty queen, reality star and world traveler. A native of Slaughters, Kentucky – population 300 – she grew up on her family’s farm where she raised her own tobacco patch. In 2000, Kristen entered Donald Trump’s Miss Teen USA pageant at the state level. Using her hard-earned farming cash for the entry fee and donning a borrowed wardrobe, she won the Miss Kentucky Teen USA crown on her first attempt. Later that year, she went on to place 2nd runner-up and Miss Photogenic at the Miss Teen USA pageant, which was broadcast live on CBS.
Following her college graduation, Kristen decided her pageant days weren’t over and entered the 2005 Miss Kentucky USA pageant, once again winning the crown on her first attempt. Again, she placed 2nd runner- up at the national Miss USA pageant, live on NBC.
A reality show junkie, Kristen dreamed of taking her competitive drive and determination into the reality realm. NBC’s “Fear Factor” was stop number one for her. Following “Fear Factor,” Kristen was cast on NBC’S summer hit “Treasure Hunters,” where she traveled around the world in search of a hidden treasure. After solving cryptic codes and various historical puzzles, her team, “Team Miss USA,” placed 4th runner-up in the contest.
A Summa Cum Laude graduate of the University of Kentucky, Kristen has modeled for names such as Jovani, Land’s End, NBC Fashion Segment, Spike TV, Odyssey Cruise Lines and others. She has also championed for charitable causes such as breast and ovarian cancer awareness and education, DARE, Gilda’s Club, The American Cancer Society, and St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital. In June 2006, Kristen returned to the Bluegrass State and is currently working in Public Relations for Trover Health System in Madisonville, Kentucky.
